Phenomenon of advertisement

Phenomenon was an NBC premiere show that ran in the winter of 2008. In this show there were several magicians that competed for the prize money. One of the tricks a magician performed really made me scared. The idea was to read someone’s mind and know what that person was going to draw. The magician had previously tattooed the object that was to be drawn by the girl at the stage. So, after the magician had done his trick, he started explaining how he went about doing it. Then film clips started showing that for about a month, the magician used to go to the house, hotel room or anyplace the person used to live in, and redecorate it. Putting objects that weren’t even in the room before, yet with a manner that over a month the idea of the object, being the Yin and Yang shape, had been imprinted in the poor girls head. The psychology that the magician used in order to persuade the girl to draw what she did, is beyond my understanding, but not the fact that this kind of hypnotism goes on every single day.
After knowing that simple changes and suggestions can be more than mere influence, it is hard not to get aggregated for the share amount of advertisements that exists in the world. From government’s army, marines or the air force advertisements to the expensive utilities that are being shown on TV’s, Magazines, Radio, Walls of Buildings, Bus Stations and unfortunately the list just keep getting bigger. Even the learning institutions are filled with advertisements. Practically it is no longer possible to live in an small town with out being exposed to forced or imprinted ways of thinking, let alone the big cities. So, it is important that people try to look outside of the box before making any decisions in their daily life. From simple purchases to the presidential elections.
